Ember Serials publishes its own original stories and respects the intellectual property of others. If you believe that material on this site, including a review or comment posted by a reader, infringes a copyright you own or are authorised to act for, please send us a notice and we will review it promptly.

How to send a notice

Email [email protected] with the subject line "Copyright notice" and include:

1. Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
2. A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
3. The exact URL(s) on this site where the material appears.
4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
5. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
6. Your physical or electronic signature.

This follows the elements required by the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)); we accept notices in the same form from any country.

What happens next

When we receive a complete notice we will investigate, and where appropriate remove or disable access to the material, usually within a few business days. We will reply to let you know what we did.

Counter-notice

If material was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you may send a counter-notice to the same address with: your contact details; the URL of the removed material; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your signature.

Misuse

Knowingly false notices may lead to legal liability. If you are unsure whether material infringes your rights, consider seeking legal advice first.
